Step 1: Creating the MTX Study
The MTX study is all about understanding the experiences of children and families who use methotrexate as part of their treatment. This study was created after hearing from children and young people that they want clearer information and more support when taking methotrexate.
Our aim is simple: to learn what works well, what is difficult, and what information families feel they need, and to create better, more accessible resources for others starting methotrexate in the future.
This stage involved coming up with lots of ideas for how children, young people and parents could take part, including:
creative methods like drawing, taking photos, and videos
interviews with researchers
workshops
focus groups
During this stage, we developed all of our resources… recruitment flyers, contact forms, blogs, information sheets, task instructions, activity booklets, interview and workshop guides, and lots and lots of research paperwork!
